The heart of the „nature experience Holdamoos“ is a 400-year-old hut, which was saved from being sold and demolished. In the autumn of 2000 it was removed from an alpine pasture in Schoppernau and rebuilt in a cattle pasture called Lebernau in the spring of 2001. The hut has been preserved in its original state, as hardly any changes have been made in the past decades and centuries.
Part of the „nature experience Holdamoos“ is a herb garden, which impresses visitors by its colours, smells and hidden power. An abundance of old, traditional medicative herbs and spice plants, which are all native to our region, grow at a hill sheltered from the wind and surrounded by a dense line of trees and bushes. The plants and herbs are explained by their German and Latin names and assigned to the respective family of plants.
There are well-kept footpaths, an adventurous suspension bridge leading over a ravine, a mystical hazelnut place – a special place of recreation and silence, a Kneipp well, water to tread in and signposted nature and agriculture trails.
